Interligados, on air
At a Glance
My contribution: Visual identity and motion design for Rádio Inferno’s weekday show, covering the logo, YouTube thumbnails, live broadcast layout, storyboard, and animated opening.
Challenge: Translate the studio’s dark walls, metal mesh, lighting, and Internacional context into a system that could frame changing editorial content.
Outcome: A cohesive on-air identity links thumbnails, layered broadcast graphics, sponsor placements, and a thirty-second opening without competing with the live picture.

The studio, beyond the camera
Interligados was Rádio Inferno’s weekday show about Sport Club Internacional. In 2021, I designed its visual identity and motion graphics, including YouTube thumbnails, the live broadcast layout and an animated opening.
The studio’s dark walls, metal mesh and lighting were my main references. I used these textures throughout the graphics, with red and yellow light standing out against the dark background.
Lettering for a lit sign
I explored horizontal and stacked versions of the logo. The inclined panel highlights INTER in white against red, using the club’s name and colors. Stacking “LIGA” above “DOS” allowed me to join the L and D. That connection plays on “ligados”, Portuguese for “connected”. The outline around the letters also resembles a calendar, a reference to the show’s weekday schedule.
I wanted the dimensional logo to look like a neon sign plugged into an outlet. The cable suggests a power supply, while the plate and screws make the sign look mounted on the wall. I also made flat versions in red, yellow, black and white. For supporting text, I chose Commissioner in regular, bold and black, with matching italics.

A headline beside the story
The thumbnail pairs a headline on the left with an image on the right. Its yellow outlined lettering was inspired by illuminated signs attached to iron grids. The program’s logo and the radio’s icon sit below the headline. A red background frames the photograph on the other side.
The sketch sets out this layout before the textures and lighting are added. The finished example uses a cutout photograph of Diego Aguirre with white-edged stickers around him.

Around the live picture
The broadcast layout uses three layers: background, live picture and foreground graphics. The mesh and red lighting sit behind the live picture, with the program’s logo and sponsors in front.
The exploded view separates these layers. In the animated layout below, the lighting changes and the sponsors rotate around the space reserved for the live picture.

Thirty seconds to Interligados
The opening starts with a thirty-second countdown. The storyboard maps a downward camera movement from the numbers to the illuminated Interligados sign, then to the radio icon and broadcast background.
The opening premiered on 16 August 2021, during the program celebrating fifteen years since Internacional’s first Copa Libertadores title.
